Our Mission is to spread knowledge of our local aviation heritage, through the Heritage Centre Museum exhibits and an outreach programme of presentations to local schools and other interested groups.

We welcome volunteers to help in the Centre on our Sunday Open Days, between March to October and at the New Forest Airfields Memorial, for commemorations.

The Centre contains ‘state of the art’ interactive displays, information panels, original WWII artefacts, photographs, model dioramas, and many limited edition prints, signed by servicemen and women who served on the airfields. A tea room offers light refreshments on Open Days.

We preserve and protect our local aviation heritage through the Heritage Centre Museum at Bransgore and the New Forest Airfields memorial at the former WWII airfield at Holmsley South. Details about opening times can be found on the Friends of the New Forest Airfields website

We stage open days at the centre twice a month, 10am-4pm on Sundays, from March to October. We would like to increase this to three or four Sundays a month, but will need more volunteers to cover these additional open days. Are you willing to help and learn about our 110-year local aviation history, to guide and support our visitors?

Our museum and education centre provides an education and research facility for anyone interested in New Forest aviation heritage and history. It contains photographs, pilots’ stories, aircraft models, dioramas; limited edition prints signed by airmen who served on the airfields, artefacts, and detailed information about the 12 WWII New Forest airfields, plus a section about the WWI East Boldre training airfield.

Our outreach programme provides expert speakers about the airfields and associated local aviation and military topics to schools and interested groups. In addition, we hold commemorative events annually at our New Forest Airfields Memorial at Holmsley South (postcode: BH23 8EB).
