Working with communities

Working with our communities is crucial in tackling climate and nature recovery.

Together we:

Sustainable communities

Through our Sustainable Communities Fund, around £2.4m has been provided to over 300 projects since 2006 which have helped to reduce the carbon footprint of the New Forest National Park and improve nature. Learn more about our funded projects and how to apply.

We have run several green events to showcase renewable technologies, eco-buildings and green gardening.

Sustainable transport

We’ve invested more than a million pounds to encourage more sustainable forms of transport and behaviour such as improvements to more than 80km of cycling and walking infrastructure, supporting cycle hire businesses, running the New Forest Tour (a bus service encouraging people to leave their cars at home), established the PEDALL inclusive cycling charity and creating the New Forest Walking and Cycling Festival.
