Accessible Trails
We have a series of accessible trails all from a car park with accessible parking bays and easy access toilets. You can find more information about each route by scrolling down. Each route has a downloadable and printable trail guide.
For general information about accessible destinations and activities in the New Forest please see our Accessible Visits page
National Parks use the Miles-Without-Stiles grading system to classify their walks and help you make informed decisions. All of the New Forest Accessible Trails are graded as ‘suitable for some’ which follow these specifications;
- Suggested users: Strong and confident wheelchair users and helpers may find these routes within their abilities. May be suitable for off-road mobility scooters.
- Gradient: Gradients are not limited but slopes greater than 1:8 will have improved surfacing or handrails.
- Surface: There may be some low steps or breaks in the surface up to 10cm in height. Stone surface material may be up to 10cm in diameter.
For those with a class three mobility scooter, lots of confidence, and who fancy blazing their own trail, there is a network of cycling routes across the New Forest. These trails have good robust surfaces and provide a huge network of paths to explore.
