Welcoming visitors
We want to ensure the things that make the New Forest special are protected, while ensuring people can enjoy the area responsibly and the local economy and communities can thrive.
Many New Forest businesses and livelihoods depend on tourism and the visitor economy so it’s important to welcome new and returning visitors. We’re asking local councils, businesses, visitor attractions, accommodation providers and local people to help.
Here’s how:
- Share the New Forest Code. This summarises the most important things everyone needs to know when visiting the New Forest. It can be downloaded here and is available in 10 languages, the most commonly spoken in our region.
- Encourage people to travel without their car if possible: by walking, cycling, using the New Forest Tour, and by travelling on buses and trains.
- Buy produce from the New Forest Marque, to support local businesses and services.
Thank you for helping to keep the New Forest a special place to visit.
