New Forest Spring Clean

Be part of 2019’s nationwide Year of Green Action by joining the annual litter clean-up this spring.

The Year of Green Action encourages people from all backgrounds to get involved in projects to improve the natural world. The New Forest Spring Cleans are certainly a great chance to freshen up the Forest. To see what events and activities we have planned for the year visit our webpage.

Litter picking events are being held in the New Forest between Friday 22 March and Tuesday 23 April. This is part of the Great British Spring Clean, a national campaign led by Keep Britain Tidy. Groups can arrange their own litter picks during the spring clean or throughout the year by contacting New Forest District Council. They are able to offer support including loan of litter grabbing equipment and collection of the rubbish after the event. For more information about the support the council can offer, and how to book a litter pick go to www.newforest.gov.uk/springclean.

Search for a New Forest litter picking event at www.greatbritishspringclean.org.uk or turn up at one of the Forest’s Great Britain Spring Clean events shown below.

Furthermore, watch the ground-breaking film, ‘A Plastic Ocean‘ with our Coastal Ranger, Chris Marshall and learn how pollution is damaging wildlife on a local level. See below, click on the location for more information.
