Barnardos Hampshire and Isle of Wight support for neurodiverse families
Barnardo’s is committed to providing ‘Better Outcomes for More Children’. Our children’s services volunteers help the charity to deliver essential services in local communities, providing support to over 300,000 children, young people and their families.
This role provides a great opportunity to join our fantastic children’s services and help make a real difference.
Hampshire and IOW Support for Neurodiverse Families offers a range of evidence-based skills building programmes to support parents /carers of children aged 3-17 with emotional or behavioural needs.
We deliver skills building programmes face to face and digitally using Zoom across Hampshire and the IOW.
We are looking for volunteers with a passion to help deliver our programmes and support parents which might include a listening ear, emotional support, or signposting.
You will offer this support by volunteering with our trained facilitators to deliver online groups which would include monitoring the chat function and looking out for parents’ reactions to ensure the facilitators capture everyone’s voice or supporting in a face to face group with setting up equipment, making refreshments and engaging with parents.
We are looking for volunteers, with a passion for making a difference in people’s lives, a fun and approachable attitude and an ability to engage parents and carers in worthwhile and enjoyable activities, supporting them to achieve their goals.
