Oakhaven Hospice Trust

Oakhaven Hospice provides specialist care to patients facing life-limiting illness and support for their loved ones, both at the hospice and in the community.

The Wellbeing Hub in the Coates Centre is a drop-in centre for those whose lives have been impacted by illness, where people can access information and support.

Hospice Neighbours' is a free, volunteer-led service available to Oakhaven Hospice patients, GP referrals and their families, offering companionship and a helping hand with everyday tasks that can be overwhelming when living with a life limiting illness.

These highly trained volunteers visit the individual to provide companionship and assistance with practical tasks, such as picking up prescriptions, shopping, odd jobs, dog walking etc. based on the person’s needs. The prospect of a sharing time with a Neighbour either over a coffee or whilst they are carrying out a task can offer huge comfort and solace. Our catchment is split into four areas, so Neighbours visit people close to their own home and are part of a strong and friendly team; great support is always given.
