New Forest Mencap
Friends, activities, learning and following hobbies and interests all contribute to our quality of life.
Many people with learning disabilities experience barriers every day to taking part in their local community and living the life they want. New Forest Mencap works to improve the quality of life for people with learning disabilities and their families by social opportunities, learning opportunities, engagement in sport, art and drama and working in our charity shop in New Milton. We also provide support to parents and carers.
If you are thinking about study or a career in social care why not come and join us as a volunteer to help us deliver our social activities, groups and services. We need people of all ages (18+) and we can provide you with a volunteering opportunity tailored to your availability.
Our volunteers support at our groups and get involved in the planning and delivery of our activities. We also welcome volunteer drivers (as one of the main barriers faced by people with learning disabilities in the New Forest is the lack of public transport) and we will provide you with training and support and a mileage allowance in return for a commitment to this vital role.
