Highcliffe Castle
A fascinating place with a rich past, Highcliffe Castle holds a very special place in the hearts of so many people.
It has been described as the most important surviving house of the Romantic and Picturesque style of architecture, which finished at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th centuries. Today it is a beautiful building for all to enjoy, also hosting weddings and events throughout the year.
It is a valued asset at the heart of the community and a popular tourist attraction. Set on 14 acres of land the walks, viewpoints and excellent picnic sites make the grounds very popular.
With the help of BCP Council and funding from groups such as the National Lottery Heritage Fund, we are over halfway through a 10-phase project to restore the Castle and increase access to the public.
We also rely on our wonderful team of volunteers and have volunteering opportunities in areas of the Castle from the grounds to room guiding to working with our Collections.
