Visit to Elf Cup Wood 2pm start
Come for a guided tour of Elf Cup Wood and find out about woodland management for wildlife, restoration of derelict hazel coppice, woodfuel and charcoal production, and other uses of coppice products such as bean poles, pea sticks, etc.
The plot is mostly ancient deciduous woodland with over 20 species of trees and over 100 species of other plants, some of which will be putting on a beautiful spring display. Many nationally scarce insects have been identified but they and most of the mammals and amphibians can be elusive. Hopefully though, you'll see slow worms and grass snakes and hear plenty of birds.
Walks start at 10am and 2pm
