(Crataegus monogyna)

  • Thorny native tree growing up to 10m tall
  • Common woodland tree and often planted as a hedge
  • Fruit (called haws), shoots, leaves, seeds and flowers can all be used for food, great wildlife resource
  • White flowers appear late April to May and are a good sign that spring is on its way
