ECO SWAY

ECO SWAY

We are ECO SWAY, a community-led environmental group based in Sway.

We evolved from St Luke’s Church’s Eco Church initiative in 2021 and went on to join The Greening Campaign and run Stage 1 and Stage 2, with the Pillars: Making Space for Nature, Energy for Efficient and Greener Homes and Health and Wellbeing.

What do we do?

Our mission is to create a greener, healthier Sway through nature-based projects, community events, and awareness campaigns. Since we started, we have evolved our Pillars to better reflect the village’s priorities and passions and this year these include: Making Space for Nature, Water and Sewage, Community Awareness and Sustainable Travel.

What activities do we offer?

We are busy throughout the year planting and managing wildlife corridors, an orchard trail, and wildflower areas across the village. We monitor and report on local water quality, including sewage spills. We collaborate with Friends of Sway Station and local groups involved in utility cycling to promote and improve sustainable travel options.

We work with the church, school and other groups whenever possible. We often liaise with other Green Groups and we’re in touch with Sway Parish Council, the NFNPA and NFDC on a regular basis.

We meet monthly and people are welcome to join as little or as often as suits them throughout the year.

Want to learn more or get involved?

Join us in making Sway a greener, more sustainable place to live. Whether you want to plant, plan, share skills or simply learn more, everyone is welcome. Please email us to be added to find out more. Let’s grow a greener future for Sway — together.
