New members invited to join the New Forest Access Forum
PUBLISHED ON: 11 APRIL 2024The New Forest Access Forum is recruiting new members and is inviting applications from people who are passionate about public access.
Members serve a three-year term, representing a particular topic and bringing their personal experience to advise New Forest organisations how best to improve public access within the National Park and the wider New Forest District Council area.
Members meet four times a year, twice out in the New Forest and twice at Lymington Town Hall. All travel expenses are covered as are any for childcare or care of dependents. If you have additional needs the forum will be pleased to accommodate them.
The forum is an independent advisory body, operating on a statutory basis. Its appointing authorities are Hampshire County Council and the New Forest National Park Authority.
Applications are welcome from under-represented groups who can connect to new audiences from different communities, ages, backgrounds, experiences and identities.
Access and Volunteering officer Adam Vasey, who co-ordinates the forum, said: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for people to have a voice in making the New Forest more accessible. We’re recruiting for all interests but especially need people to represent Volunteering, and Health and Wellbeing.’
To apply, please go to the website: www.newforestaccessforum.org.uk/recruitment. Send a completed application form to access.forum@newforestnpa.gov.uk by 5pm Friday 3 May 2024.
Successful applicants will be invited for an informal interview at the offices in Lymington or online via Microsoft Teams.
If you have any questions about membership of the forum and its role then please contact Adam Vasey by email on adam.vasey@newforestnpa.gov.uk or call 07384 517633 for an informal chat.
