Seasonal Assistant Ranger
The New Forest National Park Authority is responsible for conserving and enhancing the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the New Forest and for promoting opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of its special qualities by the public.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Seasonal Assistant Ranger to join our team to engage with forest users during the busy summer months across the New Forest National Park. You will encourage a sense of care and responsibility so that people can enjoy the New Forest without causing negative recreational impacts.
Your experience of dealing with members of the public, ideally through countryside events, will be key in delivering a programme of activities to help people enjoy and understand the things that make the New Forest special.
You will have:
- knowledge of the natural and cultural heritage of the New Forest National Park
- strong communication and inter-personal skills
- a valid driving licence
- the ability to work regular evenings, weekends and bank holidays
The role has an office base in Lymington, Hampshire but much time is spent working across the New Forest.
