Compliance and Legal Support Officer

The New Forest National Park offers a unique and truly outstanding environment in which to work.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Planning Enforcement Team to help contribute towards the preservation of this special area for the future. Working across our Legal, Planning and Policy teams, this role provides a proactive element of the enforcement service and supports our solicitor with legal agreements and queries.

Working within a small team you will manage an interesting and varied caseload which will require you to:

  • monitor new development to ensure compliance with approved plans, conditions and legal agreements
  • undertake site visits within a beautiful and diverse landscape
  • investigate, assess and pursue appropriate action where breaches are found
  • prepare correspondence and maintain accurate records
  • negotiate remedial action where necessary
  • provide administrative support to the Solicitor on enforcement and planning related work

You may already have experience in a planning related role or in a related investigative field, more importantly, you will be well organised with an eye for detail and be able to deal with complex situations. You will have strong interpersonal and customer relation skills and be confident in engaging with a variety of individuals in an efficient and professional manner.
