Climate and nature resources
The resources below are aimed at supporting your learning in school about the New Forest and why it is so special.
Perfectly suited for KS1 and KS2 with Padlet links to expand on the video themes.
Climate & Nature Unsung Heroes:
The pre-recorded assembly will focus on one climate and nature hero (sphagnum moss) who is found in the wetlands of the New Forest. As the New Forest is a mosaic of habitats, we wanted to bring to life a plant that is incredibly important but that many do not know about. It is a great introduction to the special qualities of the New Forest, climate change and climate and nature heroes and encourages students to think about climate and nature heroes that are close to them.
Climate Champions
Climate Champions investigates how New Forest habitats are helping tackle climate change! Best suited to 6-12-year-olds, your young people will have the opportunity to vote on which habitat should be awarded the prestigious prize of Climate Champion!
New Forest Welly Wander
Escape the classroom by joining Wanda and Wise Welly on their day out and about. See why the New Forest is so special and find out about the New Forest Code. How can we be responsible visitors?
