About HOPe – Helping Older People New Forest

We are a local charity dedicated to improving the wellbeing of older people. Our Support service offers free, confidential, and impartial advice and information on matters affecting older people. We tackle loneliness with our free Befriending service, matching older people with volunteers who share interests and experiences. Everything we do aims to positively impact the wellbeing of older people across the New Forest. Our services cover the New Forest, as well as surrounding towns and villages. We help older people aged 65 to 105, and beyond!

Volunteer opportunities with HOPe – Helping Older People New Forest

Join us as a volunteer support caseworker and help us to offer free, confidential, and impartial information and advice to older people across the New Forest on matters that affect them. If you are organised and enjoy paperwork and form-filling, then this is the volunteering role for you.

Or become a volunteer befriender and help us tackle loneliness experienced by older people across the New Forest. We offer face-to-face befriending, with volunteers regularly visiting older people in their own homes for a chat – tea and cake are often involved! We take time to get to know older people so we can match them with a volunteer befriender who shares similar interests and experiences. Meeting someone regularly to talk about anything and everything can have a big impact on their wellbeing.

Or you can volunteer in our New Milton and Ringwood charity shops for just a few hours per week, helping us to raise funds for our services by selling donated clothing, homewares, and more!
