Wessex Cancer Support provides local support services for patients and families living with or affected by cancer throughout the Wessex region – Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight. Our support services include: Free counselling, complementary therapy & support at our cancer support centres, singing support groups, patient information packs, and online support services. We currently have cancer support centres based in Chandlers Ford, Hythe, Bournemouth and Newport (Isle of Wight). The charity, established in 1981, has its Head Office in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire.

Opportunities available:

Fundraising volunteers: Supporting events, attending bucket collections/encouraging donations, raising awareness of our services, collection can co-ordinators.

Retail Volunteers: We’re on the hunt for friendly faces to help in our shops, serving customers, pricing stock, keeping things tidy and ringing items through the till. You’ll chat with customers, promote Gift Aid, Wessex Lottery and help keep our shelves looking fabulous.

Support Volunteers: Our Support Volunteers play a very special role, offering practical and emotional support to adults and their loved ones at all stages of their cancer journey. They listen with empathy and without judgement, while always maintaining client confidentiality.

Volunteer Therapists: Providing complementary therapy sessions in one of our welcoming cancer support centres. Depending on qualifications this may include; Massage, Reflexology, Reiki, Aromatherapy, Hypnotherapy, Indian Head Massage, EFT, and other recognised complimentary therapies.
