The New Forest Heritage Centre in Lyndhurst, right at the heart of the National Park, is the ideal place to start a visit in the New Forest.

The Centre features attractive gallery displays in the New Forest Museum including a family fun tree. Find out more about the iconic New Forest pony and how human intervention has helped shape this unique landscape over hundreds of years.

The New Forest Gallery offers an ever-changing programme of exhibitions including the work of local artists and there’s an extensive reference library for visitors wanting to know more about the natural and social history of this area.

The New Forest Heritage Centre is owned and run by New Forest Ninth Centenary Trust (registered charity no: 279373). It is a visitor experience that truly reflects this unique and special landscape. Free admission, an all year round programme of events and activities, and a well-stocked gift shop make this a one-stop-shop in the New Forest National Park and a must for all visitors.
