New Forest and Coast Wildlife Safari
Travel Included | Rustic Picnic Lunch Included
Join Wild New Forest Tours for a full-day wildlife adventure exploring some of the very best the New Forest has to offer in winter.
We’ll begin the day at a Hawfinch roost, where we hope to catch sight of these striking, elusive finches as they emerge at dawn. From there, we’ll explore a variety of classic New Forest habitats – from ancient woodland to open heath – in search of seasonal highlights such as Crossbill, Redwing, and Firecrest.
After a relaxed morning in the Forest, we’ll head towards the nearby coast, where the saltmarshes and lagoons are alive with wintering wildfowl and waders. Expect to see flocks of Brent Geese, Avocets, and maybe even Spoonbills or a Great Northern Diver. We’ll finish the day at Keyhaven Marshes, watching the sun set over the Solent as Marsh Harriers drift into their evening roost — a perfect end to a day of winter wildlife.
We’ll take our time at each location, with opportunities for bird identification, photography, and relaxed exploration throughout the day. A simple, rustic picnic lunch is included, and there will be opportunities for hot drinks and comfort stops along the way.
