I am the Hampshire County Councillor for Ringwood where I have lived for 27 years, following a 23 year career in the RAF as an aircraft engineer. Up until I recently retired, I successfully worked as a mechanical engineer in various industries i.e. aerospace, defence, power generation and medical.
A keep fit enthusiast, over the years I have run or cycled throughout the New Forest, so there aren’t many areas of the Forest that I’m not familiar with. My wife and I are keen on all things nature related and regularly enjoy the changing scenarios that walking in the Forest presents throughout the year. I believe the New Forest should be amenable to everyone and free to enjoy.
I’m pleased to be serving on the New Forest National Park Authority and the challenges that may be presented. I hope that I can, in some small way, contribute towards raising the awareness and history of the Forest whilst ensuring it’s managed effectively and efficiently, so that the generations to come can enjoy its natural beauty and charm.
