I represent the New Milton North, Milford and Hordle Division on Hampshire County Council, having been re-elected for a third term in May 2026. Through this role, I am delighted to join the New Forest National Park Authority.
Before entering local politics, I spent many years as a primary school teacher and music specialist, working in West London, Bournemouth and Hampshire. My teaching experience gave me a lasting appreciation of the natural environment as a valuable resource for children’s learning and wellbeing.
My County Council division has strong ties to the National Park. While only a small number of properties (3!) fall within the New Forest’s cattle grids, the communities of Tiptoe and the upper parts of Hordle, along with sensitive stretches of Milford On Sea and Keyhaven, lie within the National Park Authority’s area.
I have previously been a member of the New Forest Access Forum and, more recently, the Hurst Spit to Lymington Project Stakeholder Group. I also founded Conservation Connection (New Forest South), bringing together conservation groups across my division to share ideas, experience and good practice.
I very much look forward to working with colleagues from across the New Forest to support and protect this unique landscape.
