Access For All Funds.

We are directing most of the 2026/27 allocation into the road crossing point at Burgate to support the Breamore Railway line. The crossing point will allow safer access for families, cyclists, mobility scooters and those using other mobility aids. The remaining funds will be allocated to smaller accessibility projects.

Volunteering.

Our rights of way work has gone well this year and will continue until the end of September when we move back tom conservation work. Weekly tasks cleared vegetation from our promoted routes network. We have expanded into welcoming corporate groups to volunteer with us. This gives us a great opportunity to work with a wider range of people and to generate a small amount of income to cover costs.

England Coast Path

Our first focus is on surface works down at Keyhaven harbour which will hopefully be completed by November. We will then move onto installing gates and finally signs and interpretation. We aim to open stretches 2 and 5 of the Highcliffe to Calshot section of the England Coast Path by March 2027. As the Access Authority it is the role of the NPA to complete establishment works along both these stretches.

Landscape Enhancement Initiative Projects

We have been successful with the Franchises Further Improvements project which will assist the RSPB with their mammoth task of large scale rhododendron clearance and landscape recovery. Starting in early 2027, the project will focus on habitat improvements but there will be some upgrades to the surrounding public rights of way network.
