- Help pupils find North, South , East and West.
- The x marks where you are standing.
- Choose and mark on key features that will help define the extent and scale of the sketch.
- Create a birds’ eye view sketch of where you are standing, marking on natural and human features
- Label and annotate the sketch map.
Later….
- Compare your sketch to OS maps and aerial photos
- Discuss how the area might change over time (e.g. tides, sea level rise, new developments)
- Shade you map and create a key to categorise different features (human, natural, old, modern)
