Local Plan: Ashurst Hospital proposals and examination hearing session
We have proposed an additional site allocation policy relating to land at Ashurst Hospital in our draft Local Plan. This is in response to correspondence received from the appointed Planning Inspectors in November 2018.
As this proposal would involve a new policy allocating the site for development and supporting text, it would constitute a ‘main modification’ to the Submission draft Local Plan (January 2018).
The Inspectors therefore provided an opportunity for people to comment on the proposed policy and supporting text.
The six-week consultation on the proposed site allocation policy ran from Wednesday 23 January – Wednesday 6 March 2019. The following documents were published as part of the public consultation:
- Potential site allocation policy and supporting text
- Inspectors’ note on potential additional site allocation at Ashurst Hospital (ID-22)
- Sustainability Appraisal of the proposed policy
- Habitats Regulation Assessment Addendum (LUC, January 2019).
Further hearing session – 21 March 2019
All of the representations received on the Ashurst Hospital proposals during the recent six-week consultation are available to view. A further Examination hearing session on the proposed Ashurst Hospital site allocation policy will be held at Lymington Town Hall on Thursday 21 March 2019. Discussions will be guided by the Inspectors’ agenda for the session (ID/23), which also confirms the list of participants. The hearing session is open to the public to observe but only those invited participants will be able to speak.
For further details about the additional hearing session please contact the Local Plan Programme Officer, Chris Banks, at email@example.com.
