Consultation on revised Local Requirements

A local validation list is a compendium of the supporting documents which need to be submitted when making a planning application.

The Government requires all local planning authorities to review their own local validation requirements to ensure that they are kept up-to-date and are in line with current policy and guidance.

The New Forest National Park Local Plan 2016- 2036 was adopted in August this year and recent Government guidance has also been published, so we need to review our local validation requirements and are asking for your input.

The consultation runs from 1 November 2019 until midday on 31 December 2019.

The changes made reflect guidance in the Government’s National Planning Practice Guidance and aim to provide a more realistic reflection of what is deemed necessary from recent experience of validating applications.

The key changes include:

  • Updated policy references
  • Clarification in relation to plans required
  • Additional document requirements for particular types of applications.

The consultation document indicates proposed amendments in red.
