Launch of the first New Forest Arts Festival kicks off two weeks of celebrations

The launch took place at the unusual Treehouse Study Centre at Beaulieu, kindly supplied by the Countryside Education Trust and Beaulieu Estate, and was attended by artists, community and business leaders.

The Festival sees more than 40 events taking place around the New Forest National Park over the two weeks of 11- 26 June ranging from music and painting to poetry, performance and film. There are lots of opportunities to take part and many events are free.

New Forest National Park Authority Communications Manager and Arts Festival steering group member Hilary Makin said: ‘We’re joining together over two weeks from this weekend to invite everyone to find out more about the New Forest landscape, through culture and the arts.

‘The launch was a fantastic showcase of what is to come with theatre, music and spectacular artwork on display.

‘It is great to see the creative community coming together and we hope as many people as possible will join us at the Arts Festival.’
