Planning Enforcement Officer
The New Forest National Park offers a unique and truly outstanding environment in which to develop a planning career.
We are looking for an experienced individual with strong interpersonal skills who is self-motivated and well-organised to investigate alleged breaches of planning control. Whether you are a planning officer looking for a new challenge, an enforcement officer or someone who has experience in a related investigative field, this position offers an interesting range of cases and an opportunity to contribute towards the preservation of this special area for the future. We may also consider a candidate with lesser experience who can demonstrate the key attributes for this role.
Working within a small Enforcement team you will be responsible for the investigation of new concerns raised with the Authority and either negotiate the cessation of any identified breach or prepare concise and accurate reports recommending enforcement action. In cases where formal enforcement action is taken you will be responsible for taking the case to a conclusion which may involve the preparation of the case for Court. You will also liaise with a variety of external consultees as well as specialist officers inside the Authority.
This is a career graded role and appointment within the salary range will be dependent on qualifications and experience. This post is based at our offices in Lymington and requires a valid driving licence.
