Planning Enforcement Officer

The New Forest National Park Authority is responsible for conserving and enhancing the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the New Forest and for promoting opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of its special qualities by the public.

The New Forest National Park offers a unique and truly outstanding environment in which to work. Whether you are a planning officer looking for a new challenge, an enforcement officer or someone who has experience in a related investigative field, this position offers an interesting range of cases and an opportunity to contribute towards the preservation of this special area for the future.

Working within a small team you will manage an interesting and varied caseload which will require you to:

  • undertake site visits within a beautiful and diverse landscape
  • investigate and assess alleged breaches of planning control
  • prepare correspondence and maintain accurate records
  • negotiate remedial action where necessary.

We are looking for an individual with strong interpersonal skills who is self-motivated and well-organised. You will have excellent customer care skills and be confident in dealing with a variety of individuals in an efficient and professional manner. This is a career graded role and appointment within the above salary range will be dependent on qualifications and experience. This post is based at our offices in Lymington and requires a valid driving licence.
