New & Old Archaeological Skills at Rockbourne Roman Villa

Join Avon Valley Archaeological Society (AVAS), Hampshire Cultural Trust (HCT) and New Forest National Park Authority (NFNPA) for a long weekend of exciting archaeological events and activities at Rockbourne Roman Villa.

Get hands on experience with a variety of archaeological activities and skills and use new technologies and techniques to reveal more about the old.

During the three days representatives from AVAS, HCT and NFNPA will be undertaking geophysical surveys, aerial drone surveys, finds identification and photogrammetry and you are invited to join in and help us.

There will also be a range of family discovery activities including sand box digs, creating Roman mosaics or pots and potentially even the chance to meet some Roman soldiers.

Entrance to Rockbourne Roman Villa will be free during this event so what are you waiting for?
