Each summer, National Park rangers welcome more than 500 teenagers from Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset to the New Forest as part of the National Citizenship Service (NCS).

The young people aged between 15 and 17 come to find out more about the National Park and its special qualities.

Rangers use a range of fun and challenging activities to help the participants understand how the New Forest is managed and why it is such an important place for nature.

NCS is a national programme that looks to develop the skills that employers increasingly value: confidence, leadership and independence. Locally, we work with a range of other organisations to help deliver the scheme.
