Year of Green Action in the New Forest

Throughout 2019 there will be events and activities across the New Forest aiming to help people connect, protect and enhance nature.

The New Forest events are part of the nationwide Year of Green Action – a year-long drive to get more people from all backgrounds involved in projects to improve the natural world.

They also help us celebrate 70 years since National Parks were established and the Forestry Commission’s 100th birthday.

Activities planned for 2019 include:

  • A new award for the National Park’s best green building
  • New Forest Show stand with green activities for all ages
  • Opportunities for hundreds of youngsters to take part in John Muir and National Citizenship Service schemes
  • A small grants scheme for groups to bid for financial support for their green action ideas – apply now here.
  • The Big Pedall Ride Out – an all-inclusive celebrity-led bike ride for all.

Many more activities will be announced here soon.

If your group would like to run a Year of Green Action event then submit it to our events calendar.
