These personal guides are designed to help you explore and get more from your visit to the National Park. They can be downloaded onto your own music player and taken out to the site for the full experience. Each trail comes with a leaflet and full transcript to enhance the visit. They can also be listened to before or after your visit straight from your computer, and be walked through virtually by following the links to the Microsoft Live Search map site.

Which trail would you like to try first?

  • Alice in Lyndhurst- find out the history of the capital of the New Forest: its links with Alice in Wonderland, the impressive St Michaels and All Angels Church and the historic Queen’s House with its Verderers’ Court.
  • D-day and Lepe- set out with the Country Park Manager to look at what remains from that huge preparation for invasion. Includes memories form the men who were there at that momentous time.
  • Seabirds and saltpans - experience the Lymington-Keyhaven Nature Reserve with a pocket ranger and archaeologist. Discover its fascinating birdlife and salty history as a major local industry.
  • Stoney Cross - explore the remote and wild Stoney Cross,once a World War II airfield.
