Come and join the National Park Explorer!
The National Park Explorer is our mobile information unit which can be found in and around the New Forest helping people get the most out of their National Park. The Explorer can be seen at busy visitor sites, local fairs and events.
Behind the wheel of the Explorer in its first season is Andy Brennan, mobile unit ranger. Andy knows the Forest well having previously worked at Calshot Activities Centre. He will help you decide where to go in the Forest to see spectacular trees or picturesque villages. He will also explain why the Forest is unique with the ‘woodland trunk’ or ‘treasure chest’ - boxes stuffed full of activities and special things from the National Park.
So keep your eyes peeled for the distinctive Explorer - it’s covered with pictures of the Forest. The Explorer is a converted Axiam Megavan which has a small 600cc engine and does a very fuel-efficient 80 miles to the gallon.
