Development Plan
The adoption of the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies DPD on 9 December 2010 simplified the National Park’s Development Plan. Previously, the Development plan coverage of the New Forest National Park was complex because of the number of different planning authorities covering the area, and the incremental introduction of a new national system of plan making.
The Development Plan for the National Park now comprises:
- New Forest National Park Core Strategy and Development Management Policies DPD
- Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and New Forest National Park Minerals and Waste Core Strategy
The status of the South East Regional Spatial Strategy has been subject to challenge – please contact the National Park Authority to discuss the latest situation
In addition, there are a few policies within existing local plans which have not been superseded by the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies DPD. These are saved and remain in force, until superseded by subsequent development plan documents (DPD) or supplementary planning documents (SPD) to be produced by the National Park Authority.
