Wellow Village Design Statement
Supplementary Planning Document
The Village Design Statement (VDS) has been prepared by a Residents' Steering Group in Wellow to provide design guidance for the Parish (both within and outside of the New Forest National Park), and has been informed by consultation with local people.
The New Forest National Park Authority at its meeting on 24 March 2011 adopted the Wellow VDS as Supplementary Planning Document for the part of Wellow Parish which lies within the National Park. It now forms part of the Local Development Framework for the National Park. Local Development Frameworks form the basis for decisions on land-use planning.
The remaining part of Wellow, to the north of the A36(T) lies within Test Valley Borough. As planning authority for the area, Test Valley Borough Council adopted the Wellow VDS for the part of Wellow which lies within the Borough at the meeting of the Cabinet on 1 September 2010.
