Experience a bird’s-eye view of the New Forest this summer

Forget the stresses and strains of driving this summer, leave your car at home and hop-on the New Forest Tour, for a bird’s eye view of the New Forest.

From Saturday 19 June to Saturday 12 September the New Forest Tour, an open-top double-decker bus, will be driving through the heart of the New Forest National Park on a two-hour circular route stopping off at: Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway, the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Denny Wood and Hollands Wood campsites and villages; Beaulieu, Brockenhurst, Lymington and Lyndhurst for the shopaholics onboard.

For bike-lovers, the Tour has room onboard for up to four bikes. The route has been designed to link to the Forestry Commission’s comprehensive gravel track network.

Chris Gregory, Tourism and Transport Officer for the New Forest National Park Authority, said: ‘The New Forest Tour had its best year ever in 2009 and we’re hoping to get even more people to leave their cars behind and take the Tour in 2010.

‘This year we’ve made it even easier for people to join the Tour, now they can buy their Tour tickets on selected bus services leaving Southampton, Bournemouth and Hythe and enjoy free bus travel to and from the New Forest Tour.

Once on board the New Forest Tour passengers receive a re-designed and updated complimentary official guide book to accompany the Tour commentary.  The guide book is jam-packed with information, facts and figures, walking and cycling routes, games and exclusive Tour offers such as discounts at top attractions en route

If you would like to be the first onboard to explore the New Forest National Park be at Lyndhurst main car park or Beaulieu Village at 10:15am this Saturday.
