Cycling enthusiasts with support from the New Forest National Park Authority and New Forest District Council have organised a number of different cycle routes exploring the New Forest this summer.

The New Forest Cycle Events team have organised two cycle days on Sunday 29 April and Sunday 9 September.

A series of four bike rides through the New Forest have been organised on the 29 April; 50km ride, 100km ride, 200km ride and a 300km qualifying event for the 2007 Paris-Brest-Paris event, which heads west out of the New Forest-definitely not one for the faint hearted!

On the 9 September, three routes have been organised; 50km ride, 100km ride and a 200km ride across the heart of the Isle of Wight and through the New Forest and Coast.

John Ward, organiser of New Forest Cycle Events, said: ‘Cycling is a great way to get fit, these events are designed to suit all abilities and there’s still time to get in a few practice runs before the real thing.

‘It’s a fantastic day out and the perfect way to enjoy England’s newest national park sustainably, not only benefiting you but the environment as well!’

Entry fees start from as little as £4 and include a route sheet, a free car parking space and refreshments at the finish line. For more information and an entry form contact, Naomi Stone, New Forest National Park Authority on 01590 646674 or email naomi.stone@newforestnpa.gov.uk
