The winners have been chosen in a competition to find the most popular summer photo of the New Forest.

Attracting over 7,000 votes across more than 190 photos, the seasonal photo contest saw entrants hoping to inspire people to cherish the beauty of summer in the Forest.

Photos of deer, playful foals and highland cattle having a dip were among the prize-winning images in the latest edition of the ‘Seasonal Snaps’ competition, organised by the New Forest National Park Authority.

Photographers submitted their summer photos of the New Forest on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and four winners were chosen by a public vote on the National Park Authority’s Facebook page. A fifth prize winner was chosen by a judging panel.

The winners are:

  • First: 'Reaching up’ by Robert Bigwood
  • Second: 'Playful pony on Wilverley Plain’ by Debbie Bowers
  • Third: ‘Highland bull cooling off at Brockenhurst' by Zoe Davis
  • Fourth: 'Bee happy' by Cat Preen
