Wellow Parish Council has applied to Test Valley Borough Council and the New Forest National Park Authority to designate a ‘Neighbourhood Area’ covering the whole of the Parish of Wellow.

Within this area Wellow Parish Council intends to use the planning powers introduced through the Localism Act 2011 to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan. This will give local people the opportunity to influence planning and community matters within the Parish boundary.

The majority of the Parish of Wellow - including the villages of West Wellow, East Wellow and The Frenches - lies within Test Valley Borough Council’s planning jurisdiction. A small part of the Parish lies within the New Forest National Park for planning purposes, including the village of Canada, Canada Common and West Wellow Common.

Before the Neighbourhood Area is confirmed, there is a period within which representations can be made regarding the proposed boundary. Further details can be found at:

Email planningpolicy@testvalley.gov.uk or post to: Planning Policy Team, Test Valley Borough Council, Beech Hurst, Andover, SP10 3AJ.
