New Forest businesses celebrated their successes at the tenth annual New Forest Brilliance in Business Awards at Carey’s Manor Hotel on Thursday 26 November 2015.

Among the winners was New Forest Marque member New Forest Aromatics (pictured), which won the New Forest National Park Authority Sustainable Business category.

Matthew Lawson, Chairman of New Forest Business Partnership, commented: "This year we enjoyed a record number of entries but every year there is an increased enthusiasm, optimism and greater admiration for the entrepreneurial spirit of the New Forest business community.”

Greenclose Hotels won the prestigious New Forest Business of the Year award and also won The Brockenhurst College Award for Training and Development.

Sam Wilkes-Kendall, Human Resources Manager of the Lymington-based company said: “We are completely thrilled and honoured not only to be nominated but also to receive the award for Training and Development.  It gives us added joy to see this category sponsored by Brockenhurst College with whom we enjoy a fantastic working partnership.  To be awarded further with the Business of the Year award is particularly special to us being recognised amongst so many credible and genuinely deserving local businesses within the New Forest.”

Greenclose Hotels is a family owned and operated company, which owns two hotels in the New Forest: the Michelin-starred Montagu Arms Hotel in Beaulieu and Careys Manor Hotel & Senspa in Brockenhurst.

With a company-wide focus on providing leadership that inspires and motivates their employees, Greenclose Hotels actively supports employees with personal and career development. Staff are encouraged to participate in NVQs, short courses and development opportunities across the industry. ‘Welcome Host Gold’ training is being rolled out to all staff to ensure the highest standards of customer service. The company also works closely with neighbouring Brockenhurst College and other local schools and colleges, to offer students a range of employment and work experience opportunities.

The New Forest Business Partnership, which organised the awards, was established to improve relations between commercial organisations and local government, to promote better business-to-business relationships, to build a stronger economy and to bring prosperity to the community.  Cllr Barry Rickman, Leader at New Forest District Council, said “These awards demonstrate what an active and vibrant local business community we have here in the New Forest and I am proud of all the companies here tonight”.

The Partnership is a forum for local business people to express their views, share their knowledge and experience, network with potential clients and suppliers, and help make changes that will benefit their business.  For more information visit nfbp.org.uk
