New Forest businesses are being urged to take part in a survey which will be important for future planning and economic development in the district and National Park.

Businesses which return a completed survey will be entered into a prize draw to win £150.

The Business Needs survey has been distributed to local businesses by New Forest District Council and the New Forest National Park Authority, as well as via local business support organisations.

The results of the survey will be helpful in guiding future decisions on planning and economic development policy within both New Forest District Council and the National Park Authority. It will also help to secure future funding opportunities such as the Rural Development LEADER Programme, which has already provided grants totalling £1.4 million to local businesses and communities.

The survey will also assist the New Forest Business Partnership to identify and meet the training and support needs of local businesses.

Leader of New Forest District Council, Councillor Barry Rickman, said: 'We urge as many local businesses as possible to complete the Business Needs survey as this will help NFDC and the NPA to plan for the future economic needs and development in the area. It is quick and easy to complete and can be done online.'

Chairman of the New Forest National Park Authority Julian Johnson said: 'Please take this opportunity to let us know what is important for your business so we can help shape the future of the New Forest economy and identify the challenges facing us.'

The survey is open until 14 March 2014.

The survey and further information can be found on the New Forest Business Partnership website at
