A lucky New Forest resident has bagged himself an early Christmas present, winning a hamper of tasty local food in a competition run by the New Forest National Park Authority.

Sway resident Adam Jundi correctly guessed that New Forest Marque members won seven of the 11 categories at this year’s Hampshire Life Food and Drink Awards, and he was picked as the winner from dozens of correct entries.

The New Forest Marque is a quality assurance scheme supported by the National Park Authority. The Marque promotes authentic New Forest fare of the highest quality, and encourages people to shop locally.

Adam said: ‘I am delighted to be the winner of this competition. I look forward to trying the culinary delights of the New Forest hamper and sharing it with friends and family over the festive break.’

The competition was run in the build up to the New Forest Christmas Fair, where many Marque members will be among more than 90 local producers selling their produce on the 7 and 8 December. The event at New Park, Brockenhurst, includes festive hot food, carol singing and Santa’s grotto, as well as home-grown Christmas tree sales.
