National Park Authority wants residents’ views on conservation area management plan

Published Wednesday 4 July 2007

The New Forest National Park Authority is putting together a ‘conservation area management plan’ for conservation areas in the national park and wants your views.

The plan aims to bring organisations, businesses and individuals together who are interested in, or whose work in the national park has an impact on New Forest conservation areas.

Paula Freeland, Head of Environmental Design, said: ‘The management plan will play a key part in guiding work in the national park conservation areas. It will help to guide future changes, protect historic character and influence the highest possible design and building standards.

‘The next part in the process is to consult the views of local residents, organisations and businesses, we welcome any views or opinions people may have.’

If you are interested in responding to draft background papers of the plan visit and download the questionnaire.

The consultation deadline is Friday 1 August 2008.
