The National Park could be coming to a shop near you…

Published Thursday 3 April 2008

The New Forest National Park Authority is inviting, shops, post offices, local businesses and railway stations in Beaulieu, Brockenhurst and Burley to apply to become Local Information Points.

Local Information Points enable visitors and local people easy access to New Forest National Park publications and provide information on how to enjoy the Forest in a sustainable way. Each village will have one local information point.

The pilot scheme will start this year; those whose applications are successful will receive training and a yearly contribution of £300 from the Authority as well as increased trade and more visitors to their business.

If you have space for leaflets, a map and an information board, and want to help people enjoy the area, visit www.newforestnpa.gov.uk/local_information_points to down load an application form or contact Jim Mitchell for more information on 01590 646681. The deadline for applications is Friday 18 April 2008.
