Groundbreaking event for New Forest ground staff

Published Tuesday 5 June 2007

An event aimed at breaking down barriers in the New Forest has taken place thanks to the New Forest National Park Authority.

The networking event was targeted at organisations who work with the general public to learn more about England’s newest National Park.

The training event was one of several which are due to be held over the next year, and it is hoped that these will develop into an annual networking event.

At the event attendees learnt about the main purposes of the National Park and were asked to contribute ideas and information on how to shape the future of partnership working in the New Forest.

Saira Evans, Recreation Officer, said: ‘These events are an opportunity for organisations in the National Park to get to know each other better. It’s about finding the best ways to communicate between organisations trying to achieve similar goals and promoting examples of best practice.’

Organisations which attended this event included: The Forestry Commission; The National Trust; Hampshire County Council; The New Forest Centre and the New Forest Tourism Association.
