A date with nature in the New Forest
Over 17,000 people had a date with New Forest wildlife in 2010, and many more followed the story of the goshawk, hobby and nightjar on-line.
Visitors found out about the remarkable ground nesting birds of the National Park, as well as all of the UK’s native reptiles. There was a new nature area and family self-guided trail this year which also proved popular. If you visited, we hope you enjoyed yourself. If not, then please come along next year. We would like to say a big thank you to all our volunteers which helped out at the Centre meeting the public and sharing their enthusiasm for New Forest wildlife.
The experience has ended for 2010 but for more information on ground nesting birds and how you can help you can download our leaflet or listen to their bird calls.
We are planning for a date with nature to return in 2011! Please see this page for updates or follow us on Twitter.
A date with nature in the New Forest is a partnership project between the National Park Authority, the RSPB, the Forestry Commission and Carnyx Wild. The project started in 2007 helped by a grant from the Authority's Sustainable Development Fund.
