The role of the National Park rangers
There are five Rangers in the New Forest National Park Authority team, and their role covers four main functions:
- They are a visible presence in the National Park and surrounding areas
- They act as a first point of contact and as eyes and ears for the National Park Authority
- They increase the understanding of visitors and local people of the things that make the National Park special, including its culture, landscape and wildlife
- They help to develop local community projects that conserve or enhance the special qualities of the National Park.
