Working together

In recognition of the common desire to ensure signage within the New Forest National Park is of consistently high quality, local organisations liaise on a regular basis. Officers from county and district councils and the National Park Authority meet to discuss opportunities for joint working and sharing of resources where appropriate. There is also regular contact with the Forestry Commission, the Verderers and parish and town councils.

Recent examples of joint projects are animal accident and cattle grid signage, rationalisation of signs on specific routes and working on guidelines to ensure new and replacement signs are as unobtrusive (and effective) as possible.
