Sam Dovey

Sam Dovey considers himself fortunate in that he has lived in and around the forest all his life. Sam’s family has a long commoning history, and he turns out animals on the Forest Crown Lands.

Sam has been the local Group Secretary of the National Farmers Union since 1999 which allows him to become involved in many local issues concerning the forest and land management. He is also a committee member of the Commoners Defence Association, New Forest Pony Breeding and Cattle Society and the New Forest Livestock Society, is a trustee of the New Forest Trust and sits on the New Forest Consultative Panel.
